What is a welded bellow?

Welded bellows are composed of a specific number of welded membranes which result from the required stroke in axial, lateral and/or angular direction as well as the environment variables such as temperature, operating pressure and the number of cycles.Generally, edge welded bellows are used as flexible sealing elements to separate different ambient pressures in an application. In this way, in the case of a valve passage, the edge welded bellows coat the control rod and separates the vacuum side from the atmosphere side during the opening and closing of the valve.Other examples can be found under „Applications“.
